Night Stalker; remake or third-rate rip-off?
Stuart Townsend and Gabrielle Union play “crime reporters” in ABC’s Night Stalker, a remake of an 1974 mystery series and made-for-TV movie.
Watching the premiere Thursday night gave me an odd sense of déjà vu… Substitute the FBI badge for a press pass and you have a third-rate rip-off of the X-Files with Townsend and Union playing the Mulder and Scully believer and skeptic team. Not surprisingly show's creator, Frank Spotnitz, and director, Dan Sackheim, both worked on the X-Files.
