Battlestar Galactica - The best SCIFI TV series of 2005
The world is over. The fight has just begun. This new incarnation of Battlestar Galactica is anchored in compelling adult drama first, making the SCIFI aspects of the show mush more powerful and believable.
In the first half of season 2 President Laura Roslin reveals that she was diagnosed with cancer and embraces a belief that her prophetic visions will lead the tattered fleet toward the fabled 13th colony (planet Earth), Cylon sleepers, indistinguishable from humans, insight paranoia within the fleet, and it all culminates in a seemingly happy reunion with the Battlestar Pegasus turned suspenseful mid-season cliffhanger that pits Commander Adama against a seemingly corrupt Admiral Cain, in a massive Battlestar on Battlestar military showdown.
Battlestar Galactica maintains consistently high standards of intelligent drama and well-justified, story-based use of spectacular special effects, while developing rich relationships across a broad spectrum of interesting supporting characters. The series' large and likable cast is well-used throughout (even smaller roles are given adequate dimension).-The first 10 episodes of Battlestar Galactica season 2 has more plot and charictor development packed into it than most network series manage in a full season. Just the first half of Battlestar Galactica's second season leaves no doubt in my mind about which SCIFI TV series was the best in 2005.Amazon.com Editorial Review
