The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe – a SCIFI movie review

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe – MrSCIFI rated 4.5 of 5

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is a great film that audiences of all ages can get into. Younger kids will love Lucy; teenagers will be able to relate to Susan, Edmund and Peter; and adults will want to relive their childhood and loose themselves in the incredible SCIFI Fantasy adventure.

Overall the special effects in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe were better than average, some scenes however, such as one in which the children ride a chunk of ice down a river of raging rapids looks obviously blue-screened, with the kids in fake overly blue water on a stage prop (which is of course exactly what it was), briefly interrupting the suspension of disbelief for the audience.

Despite the minor special effects failings, Narnia is based on a classic story and it has been flawlessly adapted for the modern big screen audience. Whereas some child actors, seem to be play-acting through their performances, these children seem to genuinely live their roles and, more than the special effects, really make this story believable.
