Beautiful and dangerous… a lethal SciFi combination

Recently I noticed a trend toward beautiful and dangerous women playing leads rolls in popular media. Whether they are human, superhuman, or genetically enhanced, it seems that more and more often these ass-kicking women are playing the hero roll in our favorite Movies, Books, and Television shows. Please note that this is NOT a complaint, far from it. These strong women are not only are adding a much needed element of sex and spice to our SciFi they are often good roll models for young girls, and I for one am a big supporter (both with my entertainment dollars and my blog) of this trend. Viva la Girl Power!

This trend includes Alias, Buffy, Dark Angel, Electra, Catwoman, The Last Sentinel, Painkiller Jain, Resident Evil, Terminator 2 (“T2”), Terminator 3 (“T3”), Underworld, Underworld: Evolution, X-Men 3 ("X3"), Zena, and the upcoming Wonderwoman movie.
