Battlestar Galactica Spoilers
The SCI FI Channel has announced that the season finale of Battlestar Galactica's second season will be a 2 part special event ending in a 90-minute epiode titled "Lay Down Your Burdens, Part 2".
The episode will air Friday, March 10 from 10 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Eastern and Pacific time and is described by the network as:
With the presidential campaigning in full swing, the election's outcome hinges upon a core debate -- whether or not to abandon the search for Earth when the Galactica crew discovers a habitable planet. When the election begins to swing in favor of Baltar (James Callis) -- a man whom Roslin is convinced is a Cylon collaborator -- the incumbent president must decide whether or not to take drastic measures for the greater good.
Things become even further complicated when the Cylons, led by Caprica Six (Tricia Helfer) and Sharon (Grace Park), find the planet and offer humanity a stunning proposal of peace.
Updated 2/17/06:
There's an episode down the line that we're really excited about, the entire episode is told from the Cylon point of view: what their society is like, what they go through during reincarnation and when they're born again. We really get inside the Cylon [society] and get to view that for the first time.
There's a two-part season finale. We throw some real curveballs. There are some pretty major changes in how we do business. It's really going to catch people off guard.

Synopsis:
Galactica's overworked Viper pilots fight to protect miners who are extracting vital metals from an asteroid from a damaged Cylon raider nicknamed Scar, a living ship that continues to assault the fleet with hit-and-run attacks. Elsewhere, Kara Thrace (Starbuck) butts heads with Lt. Katraine (Kat).
Episode Quotes of Note:
“I can't get Andrews ot of my head” – Starbuck
“You used to be the hottest stick on the fleet... Now, you are just a recless drunk” – Kat
In a recent interview Katee Sackhoff discusses the upcoming episode of Battlestar Galactica on the SciFi Channel. She says:
It's a complete departure from whom she's been for two seasons, I went to (executive producers) Ron Moore and David Eick and said, 'I don't get it. I don't like it.' I thought, 'What happened to my character? She's drinking all the time.'
The whole episode stems from her wanting to go back to Caprica and get Anders (the man she fell in love with, played by Michael Trucco). The likelihood of him being alive is growing small, and she knows he's probably dead and she loves him...it's a great episode.
