Commercial Space Travel - no longer SciFi
According to US Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta, he expects to issue permits for Commercial space craft test flights next year, and commercial space craft could be cleared to carry passengers by 2008.
Already the Russian Federal Space Agency has taken a handful of multi-millionaires on paid trips to the international space station using their Soyuz spacecraft. These trips however have carried a steep price tag of about $20 million each, whereas the first commercial suborbital trips are estimated at the much more down to earth price of around $200,000... You think my wife will let me take out a second mortgage on our house?
