Resident Evil: Extinction - set to begin production in 2006
Resident Evil: Extinction , the third installment in the popular video game gone movie franchise, is set to begin production in 2006. Despite previous rumours that Milla Jovovich would not be continuing her roll within the "Resident Evil" franchise, it is now clear that she has in fact signed on for the third entry in the series.

It was previously believed that the third film in the series, would be titled Resident Evil: Afterlife and no official synopisis has been released, however reports from sources such as Variety have stated that:
As many of you know I am a BIG Milla Jovovich fan (see Beautiful and dangerous…) and I would venture to say that she is the most positive thing that this series has going for it. Needless to say I am phyched to hear that she will be back on board for a third installment.

the movie will be set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun with mutant zombies.
The setting was the Nevada desert with the Aussie outback standing in for the American wasteland. In the final reel, the action would have shifted to Japan,
setting up the fourth installment.
